News

What a year 2020 has been! Covid, Lockdown, Social distancing, and a mad rush for accommodation before the schools went back!

We still have some availability from 29th October onwards. Please contact us for details.

Our basic prices until further notice are £400 per week (normally Saturday to Saturday) but shorter periods of two nights or more are possible by arrangement, (with a different pricing structure to reflect the increased cleaning work involved).

We are closed between 18th and 29th December

COVID 19 Information

It is possible to observe the current social distancing rules comfortably at this property. A number of our guests this year have chosen our cottage for this specific reason.

We are open  – observing relevant restrictions, and following the necessary safety and disinfection advice.

Intending guests who are unfamiliar with the Scottish social distancing rules can email us (address below) for further information. The Scottish Government website should also be consulted for the very latest information in a very fast changing situation.

Briefly, as at 19th October 2020, almost all attractions in England are open, if they can provide a socially distanced visit. Scotland has its own rules, which are similar but there are noticeable differences. Generally, most attractions in Scotland are also open, but there a stricter rules for pubs and restaurants in the Central Belt around Glasgow and Edinburgh. If you like outdoor pursuits, these will be permitted with certain restrictions.

Covid infection rates in Scottish Borders are low in comparison with England. Long may this continue. However, the area is between the Central Belt in Scotland, and Northumberland which is in Tier 2 of the English rules. Regrettably, to protect all our guests and ourselves, we have to reserve the right to unilaterally cancel bookings (refunding any deposit paid) at short notice on public health grounds. In such an eventuality we would try to offer suitable alternative dates.
